Congress - Fin.
Dear all,
What an incredible week the 24th EFPSA congress was! For a second there we thought that due to the volcano in Iceland no one would come, but thanks to the persistence of all the participants they actually made it to the congress! On the first day we started the week with 60 participants but in the end it grew to 200 participants (out of 240, not bad)! We are very sorry for those who couldn't make it… hopefully the short visual presentation on the website will give an idea on how the congress week went. We are very grateful that everybody put so much effort to come! Some people even travelled for 52 hours and others not much less.. unbelievable! That is the true EFPSA spirit that continued for the whole week and afterwards! Thanks to all again!! Without you, no congress! EFPSA beat a volcano! How cool is that ?.
The whole week went pretty smoothly, it was sunny weather, social and scientific programme were exciting and fun, everybody experienced the Dutch culture and traditions, during the General Assemblies there were some important outcomes and the meetings were fruitful! There was a lot of Mushi Mushi dance going on, some chilling but hard working as well! The 24/7 tea and coffee also made us score some points and the parties at the congress venue and on the boat in Amsterdam weren’t bad either! Even seeing an airplane in the sky caused excitement ;)! So much happened, too much to mention actually, but the most important part was that everybody had a good time and freed their minds!
We sometimes still have trouble coping with the fact that the congress has passed. The past two years flew by really fast when we look back. It was an amazing experience, one we will never forget and we hope you won’t either!
Now we pass the torch to the Polish Org.Com! The 25th EFPSA Congress will be in Poland next year. It will be an exciting congress because it is the anniversary of EFPSA! We wish them all the best in the world and we can't wait to go to Poland next year and to see everybody there again!

End of Registrations
Dear psychology students, finally we have ended the registration and we are as good as done with selecting the participants for the congress. There have been over 440 applications and sadly we only have 240 beds to give away. We hope that the people who have been approved are happy and looking forward too the congress (??? :-) ). If you have not been selected, there is a small chance you can be selected after others cancel their applications. Anyway, we would like to thank all of you for your applicatoins and we hope that we will see you at some time at one of the other EFPSA events. Scientific programme EFPSA congress 2010 update! (18 January 2010)
As you already know, Professor Van Oudenhoven and Professor Bekkering will be lecturers at the 24th EFPSA congress. They will kick off the science programme on the morning of Tuesday the 20th of april, a great reason to get out of bed the morning after cultural evening!
Now, more lecturers have confirmed. For example Tom ter Bogt, is professor of Popular Music and Youth Culture at the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. He studied cultural psychology and philosophy at the University of Nijmegen, and received his PhD with a study on Weber’s Protestant Work Ethic in the Netherlands. He has published on work ethic, music taste, youth culture and substance use. He has written several books and a television series on the history of youth culture and pop music in the Netherlands. Recent research covers substance use, music taste development, and the link between media preferences and adolescent problem behavior. In his lecture at the EFPSA congress he will tell us all about the relationship between music preference and adolescent problem behavior, more specifically; substance abuse. Many prejudices exist in this field, which makes this subject very Free Your Mind-like! His lecture is planned on Friday morning the 23rd, at 10:00 AM, make sure you wake up on time so you don’t miss this great lecturer!
